I sometimes wonder what it’s like to be Emily. She has an innocent and unassuming way about her. Oblivious to the world going on around her, she sees only the good in people.
When you are in your world, your mind takes you places others will not see and more likely than not, they wouldn’t understand. I’m sure it’s a world of beauty and wonder …every bit or perhaps even greater than the one the rest of the world lives in. Similar I would guess, to the magical places my sailboat takes me . The hidden anchorages, the playful dolphins, the beautiful sunsets and sunrises….I believe in my heart that is the kind of world you dwell in too. ~Grandpa
When we were in Sea World on Emily’s wish trip last April, she met Franklin. She recognized him and began to interact with him. Not with words, since Emily is non-verbal, but with gestures and a sort of connection they seemed to have. Spending time in Florida…at Disney World, with Pooh, with Franklin, with Mickey Mouse…. Emily was able to jump into “her world” for real. Even if only for a short time.
And that is a little glimpse at what it’s like……
