The Crossroads Quilt Along – Finishing

August 15, 2016 by Tina 2 Comments

Crossroads

Hello from the East Coast!  Who’s excited to finish their Crossroads Quilt top????

IMG_3722Tinsel has gotten up from her cat nap long enough to help me get started.

IMG_3785 (3)The first order of business is sashing.

IMG_3753

IMG_3812It’s such a perfect way to pull all of our blocks together into one happy family.

IMG_3820 (2)Then a bunch of half square triangles that will be added in with our border strips later on.

IMG_3798There are several ways you can make HST ….. it’s really a personal preference & sometimes whichever way is best for a particular project.  This time I used my Sizzix die so I could cut alot of pieces at once.

IMG_3817Insert snack break here.

IMG_3841 (2)Lastly we are adding our borders.  Lots of them.

FullSizeRender (2)And done.

IMG_3814Finishing your quilt top will take a little bit of time & perserverence but it will be worth every second you put into it.  I promise.

Block-Graphic-1

This pattern was designed by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree & Co ….. and the quilt along is hosted by The Fat Quarter Shop to benefit March of Dimes.  The patterns are being offered as free downloads for all of us ….. but a small donation each time you pick one up would benefit babies in need …. and there is nothing sweeter than helping out others when they need us the most.

It’s so pretty in those colors. That’s so hard for me to visualize a quilt different than the original color scheme. Glad some can do it to show us varieties.

I love that you’re using the “Hazel” line! Great job on the quilt – I hope you show it when the quilting is finished!
