Celebrating your birthday really changes when you become a parent, because let’s face it, it’s not as if my children are going to take the day off from their innumerable needs just so I can lie around and eat Nutella and celebrate the fact that I’m one year closer to qualifying for Medicare. Meals still must be prepared, bottoms wiped, dishes washed, DVD’s played over and over, and there’s always the issue of the shocking volume of laundry to wash.
Today, I will just stay home in my favorite place in the world and soak in all the blessings I have been given during my 39 years on this Earth, take a few pictures of my neighbor’s pregnant belly, eat a lovely dinner out with my in-laws, dance to Yo Gabba Gabba with Emily, fold some clothes, snuggle with my husband after the girls to to bed and pray that I will continue to be drawn closer to Jesus and become a better Christian, wife and mother.
And I’ll feel happy that, I have all of you to share my birthday with. Thank you.
