As I waited at the school today for Emily’s class to end, I watched as a few parents were coming out of the school carrying their children. Their sick children.
It made me smile a little, not because their child was sick, but because it reminded me of that special bond parents have with their children. The unconditional love. The comfort of knowing that someone is there for you when you are happy, excited, scared or not feeling so well.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 2 Corinthians 1: 3-5 3
