I can’t believe the end of the school year has arrived already. It seems like just yesterday we were busy worrying about Emily starting preschool. We worried for nothing. She loves it and has shown us all great progress throughout the year.
Here is the message from Emily’s Physical Therapist for the 4th Marking Period:
Emily has made nice progress since PT started in January. She is sitting with her classmates during circle time and participates at time with help/prompting/hand-over-hand from her teacher/aide. There are times, however, where Emily does not wish to participate. She is also showing some improved awareness of her surroundings and is not bumping into items in the classroom, but this not always consistent and is something to keep working on.
She still prefers to walk down the stairs using a marked time pattern and take a few steps alternating her feet, but only with tactile cues or minimum assistance from therapist. She has become more interactive and active during our sessions, particularly when we incorporate music/songs.
It has been a pleasure working with Emily; she is so sweet and has the cutest giggle. Have a great summer!
