This week our theme will be spring and St. Patrick’s Day. We will be learning the changes associated with the weather and how it effects us. Some of our vocabulary will be buds, shamrocks, leprechauns, rainbows, gold, umbrellas, forsythias, crocus, and tulips. We have been watching the tulips and crocus sprout in the front of the school. We should see some flowers real soon! We also have been watching birds build a nest right in our school garden. Our letter of the week is Ww. Our fine motor skill is still our cutting skills. We continue to work on saying please and thank you.
Emily will be starting Kindergarten this coming school year [at a different school], so this week I had a chance to take a tour of the two classroom choices at the new school, along with Emily’s teacher & the child study team. After visiting them both, and seeing what they each had to offer …..we decided the best class for her would be the Kindergarten PDD* class. [*pervasive developmental disorder]. That means a smaller class size and a lot more individualized lessons/therapies, tailored to the needs of each child. Maximum class size 6 and Emily would still have a one on one aide.
This class couldn’t be more perfect.
