Now I know that Stuffed Green Peppers is probably one of those recipes that everyone already knows how to make, but believe me you when I say, there was a time in my life that I did not know how to properly make them …… and it wasn’t pretty.
Just let me say that it involved some undercooked hamburger and having to make a call for pizza delivery, or something.
It’s no secret that I like to make a nice meal that is very simple and quick.
Let’s get our ingredients together.
You will need:
4 green peppers
1 pound ground beef
1/4 onion, chopped
1 container or jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce
1 package Uncle Ben’s Ready to Serve Rice
Let’s start by browning your ground beef together with the chopped onion.
While you’re browning your ground beef, cut openings in the tops of your green peppers. It’s actually a lot easier than it sounds.
Just pretend you are carving a mini pumpkin.
After the meat mixture is browned & drained of the extra fat, just rip open your bag of Uncle Ben’s and pour it in the saute pan. No need for cooking the rice, that’s already been done for you.
Pour about half the jar of spaghetti sauce into the meat mixture. You will want to save the other half to pour over the top of your peppers.
Stuff your peppers.
Bathe your peppers in the remaining sauce you saved from earlier.
Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes or until the peppers are tender.
And thank your lucky stars these aren’t the peppers I made years ago without browning the meat first.
