hello First Blush Blog Hop

October 16, 2024 by Tina 108 Comments

img_5492-2Oh hello there! Welcome to the First Blush Blog Hop hosted by Crystal Nilpirom and Windham Fabrics.

Don’t you love how Roo has to get in on the quilty action?

When this fat quarter bundle arrived I couldn’t wait to start cutting into it.

It had me at meow.

I am definitely not one of those people that let pretty fabric bundles sit on the shelves. They are doing no good there.

So let’s get started.

img_5465-2Don’t be afraid to seperate your fat quarter bundles into specific colorways. For this quilt, I only used the reds, pink & blues.

I’ll stash the others away for another project.

img_54782Oh look another kitty helper stretching in the stars.

The “Stars in the Snow” pattern by The Pattern Basket was just perfect to show off this sweet fabric.

And now we have another snuggly quilt to add to our collection.

img_5654-2Happy stitching. Happy creating. Happy Everything. And when your budget is tight or you just don’t want to leave a single piece of fabric behind …… don’t forget you can use your leftover fat quarter pieces to make your quilt back too!

the whistful winds blog tour

October 12, 2024 by Tina 15 Comments

img_5693-2Good morning from the East Coast where we have been waking up to 40 degree temps and crisp fall air. It’s the perfect snuggle-your-quilt weather.

I’d like to introduce you to this adorably fun fabric line called Whistful Winds by Shari Butler of Doohikey Designs for Riley Blake fabrics.

Have you seen Shari’s Binding Babies? If you haven’t …. you must go take a peek at them. I never had so much fun binding a quit in my life. And wouldn’t they make the greatest stocking stuffers for your quilty friends?

img_5618-2I couldn’t wait to cut into this colorful fabric and make something to inspire all of you.

So after browsing through my pattern stash & my small library of quilt books I came across this pattern in the Growing Up Modern book by Allison Harris from Cluck Cluck Sew.

img_5694-3So snuggly. So sweet. And quilty kitty approved.

BONUS PROJECT: I know - you’ve seen one zipper bag you’ve seen them all. But it is sew fun to use your leftover scraps to make one. Then stash it in the “I need a gift” drawer.

I used the free simple zipper pouch tutorial by The Fat Quarter Shop but left off the binding. Stitched right sides together.

img_5696-2Thanks for stopping by for some whistful quilty inspiration.

Happy sewing friends ….. now I have to go climb back in for some snuggle time.

AGF Stitched Quilt: Timber!

October 5, 2024 by Tina 1 Comment

Happy Wednesday! It’s time for another fun AGF Stitched project with Kimberly from The Fat Quarter Shop.

The pattern is FREE for all of us and you can either use your own fabrics or pick up a quilt kit, RIGHT HERE.

The quilt kit includes the Timber pattern by Art Gallery & Heartland fabric by Pat Bravo Designs. The backing set is sold seperately.

fullsizerender-2I know I’ve said this before …. I love fabric & I love picking out fabrics for quilt projects but sometimes it’s so nice to get a package in the mail with all the right amount of fabrics needed to jump in and get started right away.

img_5309If you haven’t used many solids in your past quilt projects this might be a nice project for you to try something new.

img_5508You can download the pattern, HERE and watch a Fat Quarter Shop video tutorial, HERE if you are more of a visual person like myself.

img_5516Now go make yourself a Timber quilt! It’s perfect for this fallish time of year & will even be nice to bring out after the Christmas decorations come down. #twoseasonquilt

A big thank you to Art Gallery Fabrics for supplying the fabrics so I could share this quilty inspiration with all of you.

Happy quilting everyone!
