Pixie Noel Blog Tour - The Suburbs

July 21, 2024 by Tina 3 Comments

My Christmas in July sewing continues on the Pixie Noel Blog Hop hosted by Tasha Noel & Riley Blake Designs.

Tasha’s Pixie Noel fabric + Cluck Cluck Sew’s Suburbs pattern = the sweetest quilt.

After some quilting & a minky backing I will have another Christmas gift checked off my list. In July!

In case you needed a little more Christmas in July inspiration ….. I cut a piece of burlap & a piece of the white Pixie Noel fabric and wrapped it around a vintage metal milk can. Then added some lace & some decorative vines from the Farmer’s Market I had tucked away.

I attached the fabric & burlap with safety pins so the fabric can easily be changed for the seasons. Easy right?

Sometimes it only takes a few small touches to make your home Christmassy.

Happy Christmas in July friends ….. now I’m off to the pool with the kiddos.

holiday wishes

July 13, 2024 by Tina 1 Comment

Christmas in July is in full force and we are making some fun things from the new Holiday Wishes Book by Sherri Falls this month.

I love Christmas and everything about it …. but I also love that fallish time of year, so I just had to share something that may take your holiday sewing in a different direction. Or may have just made your quilty to do list an eensy bit longer. #sorrynotsorry

I decided to use some Apricot & Persimmon by Carina Gardener along with the Gingham Stars pattern in the Holiday Wishes Book to create a festive table topper.

Good help is hard to find but I can always rely on my quilty kitties to be right by my side. Testing every inch.

Four gingham stars and a fall table topper is ready to go when October rolls around.

And in case you needed just a little more inspiration ….. click here or here to see what else I made from the Holiday Wishes Book.

We hope you’ll join The Fat Quarter Shop, Sherri Falls from A Quilting Life & the Fat Quarter Shop blogging crew ….. and get started on a little holiday sewing of your own.

Congratulations to Claudia Moss! Please email me at: forever1pooh@yahoo.com so we can send some Christmas fabric your way. Happy Christmas in July!

It’s Christmas in July!!!!! Can you believe it? Only five more months and we will be sifting through our Christmas decorations.

So why don’t we get the holiday fun started by baking up a cute table topper with this whimsical Christmas Kitsch fabric that was designed by Anna Griffin for Blend Fabrics.

Ingredients:
♥ Christmas Kitsch fabric
♥ Holiday Wishes Book by Sherri Falls
♥ Quilt batting
♥ Thread
♥ Cookies to snack on {totally optional but highly recommended}
♥ Alphabitties

The fabric, alphabitties & book can be found over at The Fat Quarter Shop.

I thought it would be fun to make a cute table topper, so I used “Deck the Halls” from the Holiday Wishes book.

And I heard from Tinsel my quilty kitty ….. it also makes a pretty cozy bed. What a life right?

If you love this fabric, I have some exciting news for you.

Today, I am giving away a Christmas Kitsch fat quarter bundle!

You will have some serious fun with these fabrics!

To enter, just leave a comment below after your finished drooling over that Santa fabric and a winner will be announced right here on Sunday July 10th.
