paperie blog tour | paper hearts piano runner

February 1, 2025 by Tina 87 Comments

Hello there and thanks for stopping by as we celebrate Amy Sinibaldi’s new fabric line Paperie. I kind of feel like I’m taking a little day dreamy trip to France or something. Fun right?

UPDATE: The winner of the Paper giveaway is Cynthia Hurtado who said: Thank you for sharing your pattern. It is very lovely and can be used all year long not just Valentine’s. I love that you use up the scraps for other projects. That fabric is just too pretty to waste. Who am I kidding, I love everything you make. = )

This dreamy cotton candy-esque fabric was love at first sight.

Me + Paperie + Quilty Kitty Roo = L♥VE.

I set out on my Paperie adventure planning on making Cluck Cluck Sew’s Simple Heart Quilt …. and anyone that knows me also knows that I have been known to switch my plan mid stitch. #truestory #whyaremypianokeysdirty #dontanswerthat

I like to call it a creative U-Turn. And luckily it seems to work well that way for me. #whew #youcanaskmyfriends

With a some new measurements, this adorable fabric and my rotary cutter ….. I made a paper hearts piano runner.

If you’d like to make one for yourself, grab a little bundle of Paperie, some gray linen, and download the pattern, HERE.

The fun didn’t stop there. I used some of my extra scrap pieces to finish this little stitching bunny cross stitch pillow.

The bunny cross stitch is a freebie by Patrick Woods called What a cut up! and I have included the chart in my PDF pattern.

With that bucket of Paperie on my work table ….. I just had to make one more thing.

A cute little needle/button book with Amy’s tutorial.

Thank you for stopping by and happy stitching! xoxo

sweet and simple

August 21, 2024 by Tina 2 Comments

sweet and simple homemade items plus some painted furniture and a little rearranging are a great way to make your house into a home without spending a ton of money.

When we moved into our house 9 years ago it was a little overwhelming.

Amazing and exciting but overwhelming.

There were a lot of things we imagined we would eventually do. Like replacing the kitchen floor, ceiling fans, painting each room.

It’s the first non-written draft of your new never ending & always growing project list.

After finally making some much needed changes to the front living room (aka the “piano room”), I came across a tutorial for making a quilted piano runner. What??? Who even knew those existed. I never even knew I needed one. Until now.

You can find the tutorial over at Bee in My Bonnet. Lori Holt shows us how to make a “Sweet & Simple” piano runner. that you never even knew you needed. It was part of her scrappy happy summer series, along with a handful of other fun quilty tutorials. Go take a peek.

Like I said in the beginning of this post…. making your house into a home doesn’t need to be expensive at all.

Yes, there will be household emergencies that suddenly pop up and cut in front of everyone on your project list, but don’t let that stop you.

Rearrange a few things, paint some old pieces of furniture for a fresh new look & definitely add some cute quilts to the room….. that makes any room look inviting.

Shop yard sales, accept hand me downs, save inspiration pictures from Pinterest ….but most of all enjoy the process.

Trust it will all eventually come together and just let it all happen when it does. Try cherishing your home in all its different quirky stages. Your mind and wallet will thank you for it in the end.

Happy decorating cute people!
