My favorite number. Because of Emily.
The 17th Chromosome.
It seems small in the grand scale of our lives. Like one small star in a huge constellation.
But when a small part is missing it affects your entire genetic makeup.
I wanted something special to represent that number. Something I could display in our home to remind our family & everyone who entered that life is precious.
This number represents our family and who we are because of Emily.
It also represents a number of families who have children with the same chromosome deletion as our daughter.
When our package from Evie Ivy arrived today, I was stopped in my tracks. I stood in my kitchen and cried. Happy tears. Tears of gratefulness and thankfulness for what Jenny had created. For us.
Her love for creating wooden typography signs shine through in her work. They remind all of us to appreciate our blessings and gifts, accentuate the positive, keep a proper perspective, celebrate the festive times and seasons and to enjoy the company of family and friends.
