I am super excited to share my first pattern with the world.
The Applekins Mini Quilt.
It was inspired by my love of red gingham, fall, apples, picnics under a shady tree, choosing happy, making mini quilts for friends & encouraging others to try something new.
I learned alot about trying new things when I watch my own daughter on a daily basis struggling to do things that come so natural to us.
Maybe you’ve never quilted, or done applique. Maybe you just need to get back into the swing of crafting again. Maybe you are scared you will make a mistake?.
Don’t let that stop you. Life is too short to not atleast give it a shot right?
When I was younger my mom used to watch Julia Child cooking {the french chef} on the weekends.
It was hysterical.
I thought she had such a whimsical “just do it” way about her. If she messed something up, or dropped something….she would laugh and just toss it back in the bowl or swipe it onto the floor.
“Oh my, I’ll just have to clean that up later….and kicks it aside. “
That is how I sew. Julia Child style.
Measure twice cut once but laugh at your mistakes. Sometimes you will read a pattern wrong, or sew something in the wrong direction but thats ok.
Now go put on a cute apron, turn on your machine, and let’s get sewing.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find my new pattern here: Applekins Mini Quilt Pattern
