Classic & Heirloom Quilts Sew Along

Classic style quilts have paved the way for quilters over the years. So simplistic, timeless and lovely.

It’s definitely not hard to fall in love with creating something so special for our own homes or to share with others.

Like this log cabin style quilt at my inlaw house that was made over 70 years ago.

Alot of times, vintage quilts were made with favorite fabrics & scraps from clothes that had been outgrown.

And they were hand quilted.

So…. after falling in love with these vintage quilts and seeing the beauty that comes when taking the time to put your heart into them ….. I decided to start a quilt adventure of my own.

With the Classic & Heirloom Quilt Book by Betsy Chutchian in hand, I plan to put together log cabin blocks over the course of a year or two using some of my very favorite fabric scraps.

And the Streak of Lightning pattern is such a fun way to take a traditional log cabin block and twist it into something unique and fun.

I can’t wait to watch this quilt adventure come to life.

In the meantime, come take a peek at the Fat Quarter Shops book trailer, RIGHT HERE …… you might even want to start an adventure of your own.
