AGF Stitched Quilt: Timber!

October 5, 2024 by Tina 1 Comment

Happy Wednesday! It’s time for another fun AGF Stitched project with Kimberly from The Fat Quarter Shop.

The pattern is FREE for all of us and you can either use your own fabrics or pick up a quilt kit, RIGHT HERE.

The quilt kit includes the Timber pattern by Art Gallery & Heartland fabric by Pat Bravo Designs. The backing set is sold seperately.

fullsizerender-2I know I’ve said this before …. I love fabric & I love picking out fabrics for quilt projects but sometimes it’s so nice to get a package in the mail with all the right amount of fabrics needed to jump in and get started right away.

img_5309If you haven’t used many solids in your past quilt projects this might be a nice project for you to try something new.

img_5508You can download the pattern, HERE and watch a Fat Quarter Shop video tutorial, HERE if you are more of a visual person like myself.

img_5516Now go make yourself a Timber quilt! It’s perfect for this fallish time of year & will even be nice to bring out after the Christmas decorations come down. #twoseasonquilt

A big thank you to Art Gallery Fabrics for supplying the fabrics so I could share this quilty inspiration with all of you.

Happy quilting everyone!

the jolly bar book is here!

September 7, 2024 by Tina 6 Comments

Oh happy day! The Fat Quarter Shop has a new book available called The Jolly Bar Book and it even looks like a jolly bar. How clever is that???

With my Little Miss Sunshie jolly bar in hand ….. I thumbed through the Jolly Bar book to try and narrow down what I wanted to make.

That wasn’t easy!

I want to make them all!

So for now ….. I chose the Autumn Stars pattern. Well …… we chose it. Tinsel & me.

We already know how nice it is to work with fabric precuts. It’s a little like using a packaged cookie mix when your baking ….. instead of making them from scratch.

Only better.

These jolly bar quilts are just perfect for little picnics in the yard, giving as gifts, folding in baskets, hanging on quilt ladders. Well you get the idea.

I can’t wait to see what you make!

In the meantime let’s go see what this fun group made with their Jolly Bars …..

Tina from Emily Ann’s Kloset
Amanda from Jedi Craft Girl
Connie from Free Motion by the River
Afton from Quilting Mod
Pam from Pam Kitty Morning
Heidi from Buttons and Butterflies
Renee from Sewn with Grace

Andy from A Bright Corner
Angie from Gnome Angel

layer cake checkmate

August 3, 2024 by Tina 1 Comment

How fun is it when you can take one or two layer cakes and make a quilt in one afternoon?

Truth be told …. you just can’t go wrong with precuts. You also can’t go wrong with this free layer cake quilt pattern from The Fat Quarter Shop called Layer Cake Checkmate.

With two layer cakes of Hometown Girl by Pat Sloan, a little extra yardage for borders, backing & binding, one of my quilty kitty helpers, and a FQS video tutorial …. I had this quilt top finished in no time.

You can download your free pattern over at the Jolly Jabber or from the link in their You Tube video tutorial.

Now all you need to do is figure out which layer cakes you will use! Happy Quilting friends and don’t forget to stop by and check out some Layer Cake Checkmate inspiration from the FQS blogging crew.
