little joys quilt along | the finish

IMG_2508There was a time in my life when I wondered why in the World there were Holiday decorations in the craft & fabric stores months in advance. Surely they couldn’t think it was already time to decorate.

Over the years I discovered that it’s a good idea to start making homemade holiday/seasonal items ahead of time. Especially homemade Christmas. The mystery was solved as to why the stores were adding Christmas supplies in the middle of summer.

At the beginning of July Fat Quarter Shop & Elea Lutz put together a fun Christmas sew along just for us…… the Little Joys Quilt Along.

Christmas in July and a chance for us to get started on our holiday sewing now.

Every Wednesday we worked on a new block and in four weeks we had a super duper cute mini quilt to keep or save as a gift.

You can download the pattern over at the Jolly Jabber for a limited time & they may have a few kits left. You can also pick up a Little Joys fat quarter bundle over at my shop Emily Ann’s Kloset.

IMG_1703Sometimes when we make to do lists, we let wishful thinking take over and we put too many tasks on our list. We have lists all over the place & some with unrealistic goals or time frames we will never be able to accomplish.

Keep a humble to do list, and remember that life happens, sometimes things take a little longer & that’s ok. Slow & steady wins the race.

Happy crafting & Merry Christmas in July friends!

So come join the Fat Quarter Shop and a handful of talented quilters as we make a Little Joys Christmas quilt in July.

You can stop by their blog the Jolly Jabber for all of the details and the quilt along schedule and I will share my progress right here at OneLittlePooh.net
